The Hurunui River Wines Ambassador Programme idea evolved from the family, friends and locals that have been involved in our growth and development since its inception in the early 1990s. From creating cuttings, planting into the nursery, and planting the first vines into the “River Farm” vineyard. Buying our earliest wines, regularly visiting the café and turning up when help was needed in the vineyard.
It is with their enthusiasm and support in mind that we now acknowledge them as Hurunui Rivers Wines Ambassadors.
These friends have expressed pleasure in being involved in our vision, helping our business grow and seeing Hurunui River Wines Riesling 2004 be awarded a BRONZE medal at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards. We see this as an opportunity to say thank you and reward those, who on any day of the week, talk about us, introduce friends and family, visit our vineyard and buy our wines.

Four ways you can become a Hurunui River Wines Ambassador...
1. Purchase a minimum of any three cases of Hurunui River Wines vintage per season, at 15 % off, when you buy by the case. Great for corporate gifts, functions and of course personal use.
2. Be part of our harvest, you are invited to join us in the harvest, with other ambassadors. This usually occurs in late April or May, a lot of fun mixed with serious work too, followed by the “Annual Harvest BBQ,” held the next available fine weekend. Just keep doing what you already do, introducing your friends and family to the website, our café and enjoy drinking our wines and let us say thanks.
3. For those who love to get their hands dirty, you are welcome to join in at pruning time too. Feel like our true ambassador. You will always be the first to know what we are up to with events and news.
4. Be a local resident, bring yourself or your visitors to our café and buy our wine!!!. Tell us who you are by registering on our website or at our cafe. Once you are on our email or postal list, by any of the above methods, you can enjoy being part of the Hurunui River Wines Ambassador Vintage Release, this event doubles as club night and is our opportunity to say THANKS. Our Ambassadors are the first to sample our new vintage. Come join us, meet other ambassadors and share good wines with good friends in great surroundings, hosted by Hurunui River Wines Café.
